Got to Have Service on the Other Side
The Indiana Lawye r’s COA rules on service of summons issues does not report on a family law case, this is subject still needing attention. The Court of Appeals judges agreed and reversed, finding the trial court didn’t have personal jurisdiction...
Military Service, Jurisdiction and A New Case from The Court of Appeals
Having discussed jurisdiction and service in Got to Have Service on the Other Side and More on Got to Have Service on the Other Side, let me bring up a recent Indiana Court of Appeals case In re: the marriage of Anthony J. Harris v. Teasha J. Harris . Thanks to a lack of personal jurisdiction, the case had to start over. And before anyone gets overly...
Following Up On The Court Records Posts

Indiana Relocation and Modification of Custody Factors
We now have two different panels of the Indiana Court of Appeals agreeing that a trial court must consider the child custody modification criteria listed under the relocation statutes ( Indiana Code 31-17-2.2-1 through -6 ) as well those under the child custody statute when dealing with a relocation/modification case. News – Federal Judge Stops Changes in Foster Car Payments
While outside my practice area, this may interest some of my readrs. Not Quite The Usual Child Support Case
Indiana Lawyer reported on Mark E. Hicks v. Tammy L. IN THEIR BEST INTERESTS
IN THEIR BEST INTERESTS
The newspapers were quick today to report two court decisions yesterday where the best interests of children formed the core of the judgments. Both served to demonstrate what a difficult quest it can be for a Judge in determining best interests when sometimes there can be a very fine line between the available options. In the first case the Supreme...
Overview of Indiana Divorce, Annulment and Separation Law
Has Google widening what its searches find or is more stuff getting put online? I noticed an American Bar Association publication on Indiana Separation, Divorce and Annulment law under Google Docs. A good deal more formal than my Indiana Divorce Manual but still more calculated for the non-lawyer. Give it a read – and then for more detail come...
